The first major road block in a students karate experience is Orange Belt. Believe me its not the only road block. But in order to achieve your black belt you have to get past it.
Not everyone can. It’s commonly repeated in karate circles that 1 in 1000 people that start karate every get to wear a black belt, and if you want to talk about dan grades the numbers go down more rapidly from there. I don’t know if that’s precisely true, but it paints a good picture.
Many people start karate looking for discipline and fitness, as well as self defence. It’s all tied up in what is required to be a black belt. Not get a black belt, but BE A BLACK BELT.
Do you have what it takes?
