Sensei Michael Hunt
4th Degree Black Belt
Sensei Michael Hunt has been training in Shito-ryu Shukokai Karate for over 25 years and has achieved the rank of 4th Dan Black Belt. Sensei Michael has also received teaching qualifications of Shidoin and Kenshi from Sensei Yamada Soke – World Chief Instructor for the Shito-ryu Shukokai Union.
Sensei Michael has been teaching karate for over 10 years at the Kansai Karate Honbu dojo and then starting the Gold Coast dojos in 2013. He also has Bronze Coaching Certification from the NCAS ACS (National Coaching Accreditation Scheme – Australian Sports Commission) and AKF (Australian Karate Federation).
Sensei Michael is also involved in the Queensland Karate Federation (QKA) and the Australian Karate Federation (AKF) the sporting bodies for traditional karate. Sensei Michael is a qualified National Kata Judge and a National Kumite Judge.
Sensei Junko Oiwa,
2nd Degree Black Belt
Sensei Junko Oiwa started learning karate when she was a child living in Japan. Training under instructors who were students of the founder of Shukokai Karate, Sensei Tani. When she moved to Australia she continued here training with Kansai Karate and currently holds the rank of 2nd Dan Black Belt.
Sensei Junko has a Certificate Qualification in Early Childhood Learning and has worked in the Childcare Industry for over 10 years, and utilities her experience and training in teaching our students in karate. She also has Bronze Coaching Certification from the NCAS ACS (National Coaching Accreditation Scheme – Australian Sports Commission) and AKF (Australian Karate Federation).
Sensei Junko is involved with the Queensland Karate Association (QKA) where she actively competes in tournament competition as well as her role as Assistant Kata Coach for the Queensland Team.
