What a great weekend at the QKA State Titles!!! Awesome spirit from all of our competitors with the training and hard work showing great performances. Discipline and focus are the watchwords for young karate student, Oscar Gardiner, and have been a big focus for him in the lead up to the AKF (Australian Karate Federation) National Championships held on the first weekend of August in Caloundra, Queensland. Oscar has been putting in extra hours of training several days each week to work on his technique and performance….

Last weekend the Australian Karate Federation (AKF) held the National Championships in sunny Caloundra in Queensland. 7 of our Gold Coast dojo students were selected to represent Queensland at the national competition and have been training with the Queensland (QKA) team over the last few months in preparation for the event.

When Jakob walked into our dojo just over 3 years ago he was a totally shy, hide behind mum, kind of 3 year old. He was too scared to join in the classes without mum, and quickly didn’t want to do the classes at all. Within 6 weeks Jakob had given up karate. So the journey that lead to Jakob winning a Silver medal at the Queensland Karate Association (QKA) Inivitational Championships 2 weeks ago is nothing short of spectacular.
